Back in 2003 the owner of Tres Osos, Dean Griggs, had a simple yet ambitious plan: to plant an olive grove on a gorgeous 85-acre property in Carmel Valley, California.

With an incredible piece of property boasting a truly unique terroir with shallow topsoil covering Monterey Shale coupled with deep, ancient well water, abundant sunshine, occasional fog, and typical Pacific Ocean coastal influences, Dean’s deep-knowledge of agriculture led him to correctly surmise that hardy Tuscan-Varietal olive trees would thrive on his ranch. Armed with the ROBUST ambition that has always defined him, Dean went ahead and planted a mixture of over 2,000 Olive trees with the classic Tuscan varietals of Taggiasca, Pendolino and Maurino olives.  Under Dean’s hands-on care the trees have flourished; resulting in a clean, fresh, and healthy Extra Virgin Olive Oil that is CCOF & COOC Certified Organic and blessed with a full-bodied & uniquely ROBUST flavor.
